With the recent increase in measles cases in the UK, if you or your children have not had the MMR vaccines it is important to be familiar with the symptoms. Measles usually starts with cold-like symptoms, followed by a rash a few days later. Some people may also get small spots in their mouth. For more information on symptoms please visit NHS: Measles.
If you believe that you or your loved one have symptoms of measles, please do not attend the surgery. Instead call us and ask for an on-the-day telephone appointment. We may ask you to send in a picture for the GP to review via SMS. If a face-to-face appointment is required this will be arranged by the surgery with the appropriate safety procedures in place.
